Sophomore Checklist                              

  1. Get to know graduates of many different colleges. Talk to them about their college experiences.
  2. Take the PLAN test in October of your Sophomore year.
  3. Take the PSAT test in Oct/Nov. of your Sophomore year.
  4. Start researching colleges. Use the Internet and start looking at colleges through their web sites.
  5. Practice for the ACT/SAT tests.
  6. Take the Spring Administration of the ACT test. Have your scores sent only to your high school guidance office.
  7. Start visiting colleges in the summer months.
  8. Continue volunteering in your community, church and school.
  9. Study hard and do well in school - from now on your grades will count toward college and will show up on your permanent record.
  10. Get to know your high school counselor.
  11. Read, Read, Read!
