Junior Checklist
- Take the PSAT in the fall. (This test is to qualify for
the National Merit Scholarship Competition) It can be very important.
- Create your Extracurricular Resume.
- Talk to college representatives when they visit our
school. Check the guidance office for dates.
- Go to Local College Fairs.
- Get to know your high school counselor.
- Get to know your junior year teachers.
- Take/retake the ACT/SAT.
- Take challenging courses and pay attention to your
grades. This year's academic record will go a long way toward either helping
or hurting your chances of gaining admission to your schools of choice.
- Apply for National Honor Society if eligible.
- Research possible colleges and request information from
them. Visit college campuses.
- Talk to students who attend the colleges you are
interested in.
- Practice writing essays for your future college
applications and turn them into your English teachers to proof read.
- Read, Read, Read!
