Definition: Web 2.0 tools are a second generation of the World Wide Web that is focused on the ability for people to collaborate and share information online. This Web site was created using one of these tools, PBwiki. There are thousands of these free tools on the Internet, and the list below is only a sampling. Social Media Tools
Blogmeister - A free blogging tool from David Warlick's Website. This tool was recommended by several educators because it has some teacher controls built into it.

Flickr- a place to post and share digital photos online. You can associate a "Creative Commons" license with your photo(s), to grant people the right to use your work under certain circumstances. Picasa - A free software download tfrom Google that enables you and your students to find, edit and share all the pictures on your PCs. It also offers the Web Albums feature, which enables you to easily upload photos from your computer to the web for sharing with others.

Odeo Studio - a free tool that allows students to record their own podcasts. You just sign up for a free account, have your microphone connected, hit record and away you go.
